Kins – Aimless

Kins are a dreamy four-piece from Brighton. Well, two Brighton’s in fact – hailing originally from Brighton, Australia, the band now find themselves in the English town of the same name, where the seaside air has clearly influenced their music. Aimless is an expansive song, certainly a lot fuller than previous release Post Tropical Storm. It’s an ambitious song, not really aimless at all, with Thomas Savage’s vocals just taking centre stage and breaking through an array of instruments. His vocal delivery and the experimental nature of the band’s sound draws comparisons to Alt-J, but that’s not to say they sound entirely similar – it’s perhaps almost more Radiohead-esque. This is the track that’s going to get Kins noticed, and so they should be.
