Sisters – Hush Hush

Sisters Hush Hush

I came across this song by chance this evening and it’s been a while since I fell in love with a band so quickly. Sisters are a striking 3-piece from Limerick, making lo-fi pop tunes that deserve some attention. Hush Hush is a melodic, punchy track produced by Alalal, famed for his work with Rufus Wainwright, The Rapture, The Vaccines and Metronomy. The track makes use of the wonderful contrast between guitarist Niall’s husky vocals and bassist Aoife’s sugar-sweet tones to produce a delicious, hypnotic sound you rarely find these days. It’s as if they bottled up some of the 90’s, left it to mature for a couple of decades, and this is the result. Listen to the track and watch the DIY video below, you’ll regret it if you don’t.
