Anyone who knows me will be aware of my appreciation for the twisted, sinister stories spun by Nick Cave’s lyrics, so to find a track that emulates this kind of ideal is wonderful. Elara Caluna are a duo from Glasgow creating gorgeous, encompassing songs that whilst being beautiful also harbour a subtle darkness that’s only noticeable when you listen closely. The Sentence Ends With You is awash with sugar-sweet vocals and gently plucked guitar lines, punctuated perfectly with Alt-J-esque distorted handclaps. I await eagerly for more tracks.
