This song is crazy – but in a very good way.
tUnE-yArDs (otherwise known as Merrill Garbus) have released a new track, and if there was ever a song to make you feel good, it’s this one – there’s an infectious, jumpy bass line; complex handclaps; and a chorus with “woo-haa!” ‘s. What more could you want? Initially it’s littered with ethnic instrumentation, either through the driving percussion or the odd twangs that litter the verses. It rises to a climax about 2 minutes in, with all of Garbus’s looped vocals layered over and over. It’s a whirlwind ride through Garbus’s imaginative and almost child-like mind, and it’s utterly joyful.
